Alternative Candy Bar
1 Cup unsweetened coconut…add coconut oil and blend until paste.
Next mix 1 cup coconut oil-softened (get the one that tastes like coconut) Costco has 2 pks. Add 3-4 tablespoons, or to taste of dark coco, add 1 teaspoon of either almond or vanilla extract, add sweetener of your choice, and to your taste- Stevia, trivia, agave, or honey, add a pinch of sea salt if you like the salty-sweet taste. You can add nuts, and, or dried fruit pieces. Place a layer of the coconut in a small paper candy cup, and add the chocolate. Place in the freezer for about 30 min. My grandson adds a bit of pure peanut butter on top. You don’t need to freeze them if you don’t want too, but keep in frig because the chocolate will melt fast.
You can do many things with this. I added cayenne pepper...just a bit!!! Really! You can add a tiny piece of crisp bacon but leave out the added salt in the recipe.
This makes a great snack for the kids, or yourself. Coconut oil is very good for you, inside and out…great body lotion, as well as hair conditioner.
If you would rather have chocolate bark, place on cookie sheet with waxed paper while soft. Spread it thin, place in freezer for 30 min. Break it into pieces and store the same way.
