Sticks and Stones

“Sticks and stones will break my bones…but words will never hurt me.” Really? Then that would make God a liar, and He’s not!

Proverbs 18:21 (Young's Literal Translation) “Death and life [are] in the power of the tongue, and those loving it eat its fruit.”

There’s either death in your words or life in them. This is not up for debate. This is the Word of God.

Mark 11:23-25 (NKJV)

23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Ask almost anyone that says they are born again and they will tell you they have faith. And that’s probably very true, but also very chilling. According to these two scriptures if you say a thing and believe it in your heart, (have faith in what you say) you will have what you say. Good or bad.

I hear many sad stories of devastation in the lives of wonderful people that love God with all their hearts. As I listen to hurting people almost daily, their words are negative, doubtful, harsh against themselves, and God. People want to know why God is doing all this bad stuff to them. Why is He against me?

Friend if that sounds like you, think about what you’ve been saying over your situation. What have you been prophesying over yourself? You are the prophet of your own life. Are you agreeing with God, or the enemy of your soul? (satan)  The choice is always yours to make.

You can’t take back your words, but you sure can change them right now. I guarantee that if you will start today speaking what God says about you, life will change. It may take a bit of time for your mouth to convince your heart of it, but oh when they hook up, blessing will overtake you. You Choose!
